With the layouts you can display the same elements on many subpages of your site created in WebWave - responsive webdesign application without coding. This makes the management of the website and making changes easier. If, for example you want to change the phone number that is placed in the header of your website and appears on all subpages, you don't have to open all the pages and change this number on each of them. Just change it in the appropriate layout, and the changes will be automatically reflected on all pages.
Website layouts are a framework, on which all pages are based. It is worth to include in the layout those items that are displayed on all or almost all subpages of the website. Usually it will be a company logo or page menu.
What do you do when you have already created your dream page header and you want it automatically displayed on every page? It is very simple. Select one or more items that you want to add to the layout. Elements can also be selected from a layers list. In the bottom panel, click "Add to layout" and it is done.
You can add to the layout an entire group of elements at once. More about groups can be read here.
Editing the items that belong to the layout is possible in two ways. Firstly, elements of the layout can be edited indirectly, on specific subpages. To do this, double-click on an element of the layout. Its lock will be removed and you will be able to edit it. You can also click once on the item, and then in the bottom panel, click the button "edit the layout element":
The layout can also be edited directly. To do this, select from the list of pages your layout:
Remember that all changes made to the layout, in one way or another, will be visible on all subpages using this layout.
In the layers list of every subpage there is a "layout" group, which contains all the elements belonging to the layout.
This group is indivisible. This means that the elements belonging to the page cannot be mixed with elements belonging to the layout.
“layout” group can however be put anywhere in the layers list, among other elements belonging to the subpage. As a result, elements of the page can be displayed on the layoutelements or below them.
You may find that you do not want to show all the elements of your layout, on some websites. Nothing easier. You can do this in two ways.
1. Open the subpage and on the layers list hide the item using the "eye and screen" icon. The element will disappear from the pages for the selected view, but will still be visible on all other.
2. Select an element of the layout on the editor. Click again to edit it. Press the Delete key on the keyboard (Del), the element will disappears / hide.
To restore the visibility of the element, in the layer list click on a box where the “eye” icon should be displayed at the position corresponding to that item.
